VIVA – Anastasia Lorinda Dorkas Mengko mengisahkan kembali pengalamannya ketika melihat secara nyata jatuhnya pesawat Lion Air JT 610 di perairan Karawang, Jawa Barat. Saat kejadian, Anastasia tengah berada di rumahnya kawasan Karawaci, Tangerang, dan sempat merasa aneh ketika sang anak memberi tahu ada pesawat. 
Mendapat kabar tersebut, perempuan itu kaget, ketika melihat pesawat bertuliskan 'Lion' dalam posisi tidak sempurna. "Dia (pesawat) posisinya miring," kata Anastasia saat ditemui di posko evakuasi Lion Air di Pelabuhan Jakarta International Container Terminal, Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, Kamis, 1 November 2018.
Anastasia yang sehari-hari merupakan pengemudi ojek online ini menuturkan, posisi pesawat miring tak begitu lama, kemudian mengeluarkan asap. Saat bercerita, ia agak sedikit gugup mengisahkan kembali pesawat dengan kode registrasi PK-LQJ itu ternyata membawa 181 penumpang dan 7 awak kabin yang kini belum ditemukan. 
"Saya diam saja (tidak laporkan). Tapi sampai besoknya juga saya merasa bersalah. Coba saya kemarin bisa ngomong," ujar dia.
Awalnya, Anastasia belum percaya bahwa pesawat yang dalam posisi miring itu benar-benar kecelakaan. Sebab, ketika melihat pemberitaan di media massa, lokasi jatuhnya pesawat berada di laut. Sementara itu, asumsi dia, kediamannya jauh dari lokasi yang ada di berita. 
"Setelah lewat pun seperti itu saya pikir sudah selesai. Ya sudah, saya jalan sampai rumah, dan saya mengikuti aktivitas lagi. Saya tidak tahu ada kecelakaan atau apa," katanya.
Hingga hari keempat pencarian jatuhnya pesawat, Anastasia mengaku sulit tidur karena tak bisa memberitahu kepada pihak-pihak yang berwenang atas apa yang dilihatnya. 
Senin pagi, 29 Oktober 2018, saat kejadian sekitar 06:30 WIB, ia benar-benar tak menyangka peristiwa yang dilihatnya ternyata ialah pesawat komersial berpenumpang lebih dari 100 orang. "Dari kemarin saya seakan-akan tidak bisa tidur, saya merasa bersalah," ujarnya.
